Pianist - Vocalist - Band Leader

 

Steve Doyle plays an active roll in the New York jazz and cabaret scene.  He is a consummate, respected pianist/vocalist and, in addition, plays the double bass beautifully – a true triple threat.

Over the past 25 years he has performed for private events as a band leader and pianist in the New York area at many prestigious venues such as the Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Birdland, the Algonquin, Feinstein’s at the Regency, the Carlysle and is regularly invited to perform with luminaries of Jazz, Broadway and Cabaret: Christine Ebersole, Bucky Pizzarelli, Linda Lavin, Billy Stritch and Tony Desare to name a few.  

 

Steve has worked internationally at Jazz festivals, with orchestras throughout the US and in concert engagements around the world as a sideman or with his own groups.  His discography includes appearances on over twenty-five professional recordings.

 

He has received many awards and accolades for his musicianship including a full ride merit scholarship for study at the University of Nebraska, an invitation to participate in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition in Washington D.C. and an award to study in Los Angeles with John Clayton and Charlie Haden from the Milt Hinton Scholarship Fund Competition.  

 

Steve is the weekly featured entertainer at the 3 W. 51st St. Club WNRC & Lambs Theatrical Club.  He Frequently performs at the Grand Hilton New York, the Plaza Hotel and the Waldorf Astoria at the famed Cole Porter piano.  In New York, on Mondays Mr. Doyle performs with Jim Caruso at the famed Birdland Jazz Club and regularly appears on Sundays at the Carlyle Hotel.

 

Steve has two CD’s to date as a leader - one featuring his bass playing, PRESENCE and his latest featuring his piano playing and vocals - the critically acclaimed, HOME TO YOU.  He also has composed, arranged and recorded the music for a children’s musical entitled DADDY DIALOGS.
